The cream of Wolverhampton and the Black Country’s professional services sector has
been recognised at the city’s annual Law Society awards.

Solicitors joined accountants, estate agents, bankers and financial advisors to celebrate
the annual Wolverhampton Law Society dinner and sixth annual awards at the Molineux
Stadium on Friday (November 22).

Four awards were presented with the winners chosen by an independent panel of leading
business figures – Professor Peter Walton from the University of Wolverhampton; Karen
Webb from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce; Lee Allen from the Alzheimer’s
Society; Charlotte Davies from Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and the Mayor of
Wolverhampton, Councillor Claire Darke.

The Professional of the Year, sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton, recognised
an outstanding contribution to the local profession and was awarded to Charlotte Clode
from FBC Manby Bowdler solicitors.

The accolade for Professional Services Firm of the Year, sponsored by St Philips
Chamber, went to AJ Case Management.

Junior Professional of the Year, sponsored by NO5 Chambers, was presented to Chelsie
Burnett from D&N Law with Joseph Martin from FBC Manby Bowdler being highly
commended.

Richard Ennis from Rees Page Solicitors was named TM Group Community Champion of
the Year with Will Jones from FBC Manby Bowdler being highly commended.

Gareth Ruddock, President of the Wolverhampton Law Society, who chaired the evening,
said: “Our annual dinner and awards acknowledges the important role played by the
professional services sector in supporting the businesses of Wolverhampton and the
surrounding area.

“It is a thriving sector and that was reflected in the excellent nominees in all the categories.
As ever, the awards were hotly contested and produced some very deserving nominees
and winners.

“The evening was a great celebration of our city’s legal and professional services sector.”

Comedian Justin Moorhouse was guest speaker at this year’s awards and musical
entertainment was provided by The Mod Cons.
