Warwick leaps up 38 places in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings…
10The Times Higher Education World University Rankings published today, Thursday 2nd October 2014, reveal that the University of Warwick has leapt up 38 places in that table to be now ranked 103rd in the world. This follows the news last month that Warwick was ranked 61st in the world in the QS annual World University Rankings, and the new just two weeks ago that the University of Warwick was declared University of Year by the UK’s The Times and Sunday Times newspapers.
While there is obviously a great deal of variability in how University league tables are calculated, particularly in the international tables, Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel Thrift welcomed the consistent, and significant, rise of Warwick across all three of the recent league tables. He said:
“The key factors underpinning our rise in the league table are a strong research performance and a growing global reputation. Clearly this must reflect the success of Warwick’s Strategy, first launched in 2007, with its focus on high quality research and teaching, embedding internationalism into every area of the University, enhancing economic growth, and making continuous institutional innovations. It is the work of the Warwick staff and students that underpins that success.”
