United Through Food supports two charities
Anyone who donates £10 a ticket will be entered into a draw for some fantastic prizes including a three-course meal cooked in the winner’s home by Stu Deeley, Masterchef: The Professionals’ Champion 2019.
Many other leading figures in the hospitality sector are supporting the initiative. For example, Nick Bennett, Masterchef: The Professionals’ finalist and now head chef at Old Downton Lodge in Ludlow, is donating an overnight stay with breakfast at the historic lodge.
Michelin starred chef, Tom Shepherd, is providing a three-course dinner or lunch for six people in their own home.
Jonny Mills, chef director at The Tame Hare in Leamington Spa, is offering a tasting menu, and Craig Burrows is giving an afternoon tea for two at Pullman St Pancras.
Tom Jackson is providing a six-hour cooking workshop at the winner’s own home and Phil Hindmarch, Wilson Vale general manager, is donating a real bread-making masterclass. Part of their roles with Ashby-based Wilson Vale is to develop, inspire and grow chefs.
Tom Jackson said: “I have been fortunate throughout my career to have learnt from and been trained by some incredible chefs. The amazing prizes that have been donated have come from some of my chef friends, previous and current colleagues, suppliers and other great people who want to support this project.
“The Hospitality industry, like most, is experiencing the biggest uphill challenge we have ever faced. Food is a powerful thing and is something that can bring everyone together. Every donation to United Through Food will help to support NHS Charities Together and the industry charity, Hospitality Action, which offers vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within the UK hospitality sector.”
The initiative aims to raise £5,000 for each charity. It opened on 1st May and closes on Friday 29th May.
