Submitted by on April 10, 2015 – 7:00 am |

Anna ElyasovaAnna Elyasova has been appointed to head up operations at Startup Direct’s Birmingham base, which launched at Innovation Birmingham last summer. The startup funder is looking to support around 200 new businesses in the region over the next twelve months with cash, mentoring, workshops, networking events and business training.

Anna brings considerable expertise and experience to the role, following a five-year career in investment banking where she advised international clients on capital raising and business restructuring. Originally from Siberia, Russia, Anna is fluent in three languages and is passionate about art, photography and entrepreneurship. She has relocated from London to take on the role.

“Birmingham is such a diverse city which is already home to plenty of interesting and inspiring entrepreneurs”, said Anna. “It is growing a real reputation for innovative tech start ups but alongside that is a flourishing network of socially orientated enterprises. I can’t wait to learn more about them and use our finance and expertise to help them grow.”
