Rethink Group is Best Company to Work at the 2017 Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) Awards…
Birmingham-based Rethink Group has been crowned as the UK’s Best Recruitment Company to Work For at the annual IRP Awards. The company, which employs a team of more than 200 people working out of offices in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Bristol, Dubai and Sydney, has an impressive track record in creating great places to work.
The initiatives for which it has received this accolade include policies which invest heavily in staff development, encourage and reward staff undertaking charitable endeavours, and which allow people to excel as parents and in their career; the Group’s £5,000 bonus package for working mums and dads – including those who’ve adopted – is just one successful example.
The Group’s CEO Andy Lord explained: “In my eleven years at Rethink – and in the past year whilst I’ve been CEO – I’ve worked tirelessly with my colleagues to make Rethink a brilliant place to work. I’m absolutely thrilled therefore that we have received a ringing endorsement for our efforts – and our industry’s highest accolade.
“Our people make our business; whether it’s our colleagues in our RTM brand working hard with businesses to strategise talent preservation and acquisition, to our recruitment professionals working for the Rethink recruitment division – to the tech savvy Digital Gurus, they are all amazing people who I want to continue to reward and incentivise.”
Earlier this autumn, Rethink displayed its next-level initiative by establishing its own coding school; known as Code Nation it is the only school that teaches students and dips into its parent company’s client pool to help students find a job upon graduation. Rethink Group colleagues have also already undertaken some of the courses to bolster their own skills; Andy continued:
“We are a forward thinking Group and I’m delighted how much my colleagues have embraced the coding school, introducing the initiative to our clients and showing them how we are collectively committed to addressing the digital skills shortage. It’s another testament to the strength of our internal career path programmes which encourage and reward everyone who wants to climb a ladder. We arm our colleagues with everything they need to reach the level they want to get to.”
Unmatched in prestige, the IRP Awards are the only recruitment sector awards hosted by the REC. The awards present a unique platform upon which to celebrate the successes of the brightest recruitment professionals and companies within the UK. This is the third consecutive year that the Group has won an Award; last year the company’s inspirational colleague Andy Cox was crowned the Consultant of the Year, whilst in 2015 we were confirmed as the IRP’s Advocate Company of the Year.
Winning an IRP Award is the most impressive industry recognition an individual or company can achieve, and is unique in raising awareness towards the positive role models whose exceptional work, candidate care and client relations set the bar for all recruitment professionals and businesses to aspire to. Recognising achievement across all levels and different disciplines, the awards are a true reflection of the UK’s recruitment talent.
REC chief executive Kevin Green concluded: “Tonight’s winners deserve a huge amount of credit and can be held up as the leading lights within recruitment. Recruiters transform lives, and all the companies and individuals showcased this year clearly show the value that our industry delivers every day.
“In 2017 we received a record number of high caliber entries, and everyone on the shortlist should be proud of their work, which is driving up standards and professionalism in recruitment.”
The winners were announced at the IRP Awards ceremony on Wednesday 6 December 2017 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.
