New Marco Pierre White restaurant is a recipe for success at Holiday Inn Airport Hotel…

 Marilyn Monroe Look-a-like Annabel Jones and "Marco Pierre White" are on hand to open the new Marco Pierre White New York Italian Restaurant at the Birmingham Holiday InnCelebrity chef Marco Pierre White’s latest restaurant has opened at the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport following a £200,000 refurbishment.

Marco’s New York Italian played host to VIP visitors at a cocktail reception at the hotel last night, with look-a-like Marilyn Monroe serenading the guests adding a touch of old school American glamour to the occasion.

The 120 cover restaurant, which replaces the previous Grill Room, showcases a menu inspired by Marco’s Italian heritage and love of New York style dishes.

Serving up the chef’s take on American-Italian food including fresh pastas, steaks, seafood, burgers and handmade pizzas, the restaurant will make the most of fresh local produce. The family-friendly diner offers a relaxed, affordable setting for business dinners, special occasions, casual gatherings or a hearty meal at the end of the day for weary hotel guests.

Heading up the new restaurant is Executive Head Chef, Mark Hearnden, who hopes to create a dining destination offering one of the best food experiences in the area.

Karen McAdams, Restaurant Manager said: “It’s great to be open to the public after a busy couple of months getting everything ready to launch our prestigious new brand. The response by our guests so far has been incredibly positive and we look forward to welcoming diners to experience the menu.

Jason Hiley, General Manager added: “Marco believes that the ambience of the restaurant needs to be perfect to create the right mood.

“The restaurant will appeal to those looking for a relaxed, fun place to eat and the team is now looking forward to welcoming guests to enjoy the New York Italian experience, Marco style.

“We would like diners to have a good time and enjoy traditional Italian favourites at any time of the day, where people can go for some nice food and a good bottle of wine without breaking the bank.

“We want our guests to enjoy their experience so much that they tell their friends and colleagues to pay us a visit.  The team and I will continue to focus on what really matters, affordable quality food, in comfortable and relaxed surroundings, with engaged and friendly service, the key ingredients to make people want to return time and time again.”

Ideal for guests staying at the hotel, the new restaurant is also expected to attract residents living in and around the Solihull area, as well as visitors to the Genting Arena and NEC.

Marco’s New York Italian will be run by the committed management team as part of a franchise agreement with Black & White Franchising.

As an added benefit, there is a Marco’s New York Italian branded shuttle service to and from the Birmingham International train station and airport for guests who are not driving.
