Midlands logistics firm enjoys rapid growth…
Growth at the business reflects a national upturn in the sector, where logistics is currently the fourth largest area of the UK economy with a turnover of £75 billion.
Set up 10 years ago by managing director Sadie Alcock, Employ Recruitment UK based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, has grown to 14 staff and has over 150 drivers supplying drivers to 36 customers including Marstons Brewery, Sainsbury’s in Stoke and Stone, DHL, Biffa and Brit European.
Now the leading midlands logistics recruitment company is looking to employ a resource manager, an operations manager and a contract manager as it prepares to expand even further.
Sadie said: “I began by operating from a rented office with one member of staff and from there the business has just grown and grown mainly because of our long term commitment to the industry.
“That’s why we now need these additional staff at our head office in Ashbourne to help take us forwards so we can keep bringing new clients and drivers on board.
“We also aim to look after our staff as much as our clients and drivers, so long term I want to raise our investors in people accreditation and I’d love for us to be listed as one of the 100 best small businesses to work for in The Sunday Times.”
Charlotte Keeling, business development manager at Employ Recruitment UK, started with the company in 2011 and was promoted from Contract Manager to her current role within 12 months.
She has nothing but praise for her employers, and said: “Working at Employ has given me the confidence that while having a young family I can still develop in my career. The next level for me would be directorship which is an excellent opportunity and gives me something to work towards.
“For someone that wants to get into a recruitment career Employ really is a great opportunity – I am proof.”
