Leicestershire catering company makes its mark on the industry…

Andrew Wilson & Carolyne Vale, co-founders of Wilson Vale (Commercial Food Photography)Ashby-based caterer, Wilson Vale, has been listed at the number ten spot in a report highlighting the twenty most dynamic and best performing companies within the UK foodservice sector.

The report, prepared by Alix Partners and EP Business in Hospitality, shows that the Ashby-based independent caterer has achieved 16.6% growth in profits over the last three years.

With an annual turnover of £22m and 85 high profile clients in its portfolio, Wilson Vale is quietly making its mark on what is an extremely competitive sector by retaining its core values and keeping growth steady and controlled.

Andrew Wilson, co-founder of Wilson Vale, said: “Our growth strategy is all about careful, consistent and considered development, and not about any meteoric rises or whiz bang. We have achieved double digit percentage growth year-on-year since our inception in 2002. If we achieve 10 to 15 per cent increase in growth year-on-year over the next five years, we will be very pleased.

“To grow organically within the foodservice sector you have to follow a pattern and remain true to your core values.  You have to ‘stick to your knitting’ and do what you do best. You can’t grow a company by changing its culture. We have safe-guarded our ethos and standards throughout our growth and development while working with really talented people and wonderful clients.”

The company is known for its fresh food ethos and craft-skilled people, employing 600 nationwide across a variety of business & industry, conference venues and private education environments.
