Global Banking Firm Educates Abbey College Birmingham Students…
Bright Business students from Abbey College Birmingham were given an exclusive talk by a graduate recruiter from one of the world leaders in banking and financial services, Deutsche Bank.
Guest speaker Isabel Stephens-Wood, Talent Acquisition and Graduate Recruiter for the bank’s Group Technology and Operations division in Birmingham visited the Saint Paul’s Square College to advise potential future employees.
The Deutsche Bank’s headquarters are based at the Twin Towers in Frankfurt. It has more than 100,000 employees in over 70 countries, and has a large presence in Europe, America, Asia-Pacific and the emerging markets.
Isabel recruits graduates and undergraduates for the company’s Placement Year and Train to Hire programmes.
Isabel was joined by Rachel Thompson, from the Client Onboarding, French Custody Team.
The students benefited from top tips on how to impress future employers and gained an insight into the world of banking at one of the world’s largest foreign exchange dealer.
Upper Sixth Student Mariya Sheikh, (19), who studies Business, Economics and ICT said: “This talk was incredible, and it has really opened my eyes into the world of finance. It was very beneficial to me and my studies and has really given me something to think about in terms of the next step in my education and career.”
Isabel has been a recruiter for the Birmingham division of Deutsche Bank for almost two years. She said: “It was great to come to the college and meet the lively and engaged students, who were eager to learn more about the industry.”
Stephen Robinson, Principal at Abbey College Birmingham, said: “It was an honour to host Isabel and Rachel at the College. It was a great experience for our students and I am pleased we were able to give them this opportunity.”
