Paul Taylor Rise FilmsStratford-upon-Avon College will discover this week whether former student, Paul Taylor (pictured) can add Academy Award winner to his list of accolades after his production company was nominated for an Oscar.

Paul, who studied A Level Film Studies and BTEC Vocational Media at the College, is a producer, director and co-founder of production company, Rise Films which has been nominated in the Best Documentary Feature category for ‘The Invisible War’.

Simon O’Grady, Curriculum Area Manager for Visual Arts and Media, said, “I am extremely proud of Paul. We felt fairly certain that it would happen eventually. He is a genuinely outstanding alumnus.”

College Principal, Martin Penny extended his congratulations to Paul by saying, “An award of this order is of no surprise. Paul always showed great promise during his time at the College. I am absolutely delighted for him and the College is immensely proud of his achievements. We all hope he can go the extra step and become an Oscar winner.”

The 85th Academy Awards Ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on February 24th. The Ceremony will be hosted by Family Guy creator, Seth McFarlane.
