Partnership pledges minimum of £10,000 to UK charity to support people with breast cancer

Fitbit, the market leader in connected health and fitness devices, today launched a pink Fitbit Flex™ wireless activity and sleep-tracking wristband to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care. For each pink Flex purchased through the end of 2013, Fitbit will contribute funds to the charity with a minimum of £10,000 pledged to help provide support and information to those affected by breast cancer.

There are 55,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK. Breast Cancer Careoffers clinical expertise and an emotional support network to help thousands of people across the UK find a way to live with, through and beyond breast cancer.

Andy Harris, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Breast Cancer Care, said:

“Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, so it’s vital we support the thousands of women and their families who face the devastating physical and emotional impact of living with the disease every day. We’re thrilled to work with Fitbit as a supporter of our cause, and as a company that encourages people to lead a more physically active lifestyle. We couldn’t continue our work without supporters like Fitbit and buying a Pink Flex is a great way to help support our essential services”

Fitbit is on a mission to help people live healthier lives by creating the most advanced connected health products and experiences. Fitbit wireless activity and sleep trackers provide a simple way to be healthier and more active, encouraging users to meet their goals with motivational online and mobile tools, and celebrating their achievements.

Gareth Jones, EMEA General Manager said:

“We are proud to align with Breast Cancer Care as the only specialist breast cancer support charity working throughout the UK. In addition to contributing to their campaign for better support and care associated with breast cancer, Fitbit is also helping people improve their general health and fitness in small simple steps – primarily by encouraging users to move more.”

The vibrant and sleek pink Flex tracks steps, distance, calories burned, active minutes and sleep quality. The Flex also syncs wirelessly and automatically to mobile devices and computers with Bluetooth Smart, so you can effortlessly check your stats on the go.

The new pink Flex complements the broad range of stylish colours Fitbit has available, including Navy, Teal, Tangerine, Slate and Black. Pink Flex is available exclusively at Apple retail stores and on for £79.99.
