Fishmore Hall Hotel on the market at £1m freehold…
The magnificent 15-bedroom hotel boasts three AA red stars along with a host of other accolades from the hotel and catering media.
Hotels director Peter Brunt does not expect the hotel – converted from a former school back in 2007 – to be on the market long.
He said: “Fishmore Hall is an elegant, beautifully proportioned building overlooking the historic town of Ludlow and the Forelles restaurant is rightly renowned for its superb cuisine.
“In addition there is clear scope for profits above £200,000 on turnover of £1m.”
Fishmore Hall was lovingly converted from a former school during 2007. Although previously a Grade II listed building, it has now been de-listed but retains its classically Georgian appearance.
Peter Brunt added: “The house has been beautifully restored and now boasts 15 luxurious contemporary bedrooms and highly indulgent designer bathrooms. It really is the perfect place for a long lazy weekend break or mid-week stay to discover the delights of this fascinating county.
“It has also become one of the leading wedding venues in Shropshire.”
Attention to detail is evident from the grounds to the owners’ accommodation. The conversion has made the most of the impressive entrance and the light and airy restaurant extension was added in 2011.
There is a comfortable residents’ lounge with a stone fireplace seating around 20. The Forelles Restaurant is normally laid for 60 but with the stylish extension added in 2011 it can provide function capacity for up to 130. French doors from the Forelles lead onto a patio and on into the garden.
Peter Brunt said the hotel’s enviable location overlooking Ludlow meant guests were just a short drive away from any number of historic attractions, natural wonders and wonderful architecture.
“It really is one of the best locations for visitors keen on making the most of one of England’s most popular rural counties.
“Ludlow is a truly lovely market town with an abundance of reasons to visit. The town’s annual food festival is centred on the castle and Fishmore Hall is an ideal place to stay when visiting this unspoilt part of the Welsh borders.”
He concluded: “Our clients have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of creating a gorgeous country hotel from a shell and establishing a critically acclaimed business whose revenues and profits continue to rise.
“But they have decided to turn their attentions elsewhere, giving others the opportunity to take on and develop this first class hotel in a first class location.”
