Ambitious software company OpenGenius announces recruitment plans after joining the 2017 Digital Dozen Accelerator programme.

OpenGenius, the creators of iMindMap and DropTask, has announced that they will be creating thirty new high tech jobs within the next two years.OpenGenius, which also owns Tec Marina in Penarth, recently became the first company in Wales to be accepted onto the London Stock Exchange Group’s ELITE programme, and has this month been appointed to the Innovation Point Digital Dozen Accelerator 2017.

The programme, which represents the diverse range of services and products Wales has to offer, is built up of innovative, inspiring and established companies who are disrupting digital technologies, and is Wales’ first national tech accelerator.

Chris Griffiths, CEO, OpenGenius, commented on the appointment: “We feel very lucky to have been accepted onto the programme among some outstanding entrepreneurs. We have an exciting few months ahead of us and we’re really looking forward to working with the experienced mentors at the Digital Dozen Accelerator.”

The programme will run over the next six months, offering finalists the tools, skills and connections needed to grow and secure their next investment round, including one-to-one mentoring, pitch training and valuable networking events and introductions.

OpenGenius has ambitious growth plans for the next two years which, helped by the Digital Dozen Accelerator programme, will include investment opportunities as well as appointing thirty new high tech roles to their team.

On the decision to recruit, Chris adds: “This is such crucial time for the business as we look to accelerate our growth and prepare for a flotation in 2018. The next 12 months is going to be an exciting ride for OpenGenius and we’re looking forward to having some new technical minds on the team to help get us there.”

OpenGenius are the creators of the pioneering Mind Mapping, brainstorming and project planning software, iMindMap and visual task management app, DropTask. The company delivers bespoke and accredited training courses worldwide in Mind Mapping, applied innovation, speed reading, leadership and memory skills. Their software and training solutions are used by individuals worldwide within Disney, NASA the BBC and Microsoft.

The company is headquartered in Penarth Tec Marina, a purpose-built office space that aims to bring a Silicon Valley look and attitude to Wales. It officially opened on July 1st 2015 and currently houses 26 businesses.
