More than 100 owners, leaders and founders of SMEs from across the Midlands attended the Dinner at Birmingham’s Fazeley Studios, representing the regions diversity of business and commercial sectors and industries.

In her keynote speech, Dani shared her journey as the fourth generation to lead her own family’s manufacturing business, and how this led her to create Families in Business and its portfolio of support, resources, tools and a neutral community for family businesses.

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a widely respected programme that supports small businesses and social enterprises across the Midlands and the UK, and I am honoured to have been invited to share my story and the inspiration behind Families in Business, at the Midlands Alumni Dinner,” says Dani.

“These events have a reputation for giving Alumni rare insights through their guest speakers, and I hope the snapshot into my journey in the family business and most recently FiB, will have been an inspirational and interesting insight into my own, sometimes roller coaster journey of being a business leader and entrepreneur, and some of the lessons I have learnt along the way.”

Dani founded Families in Business in 2012, to provide a go-to place of understanding and support for family businesses, and tailored support packages and programmes for members.

It has a growing nationwide network that includes professional advisers and supporters of family businesses. In the Midlands this includes Else Solicitors, Smith Cooper, Barnett Ravenscroft Wealth Management, Cooper Parry, Spearing Waite and St James’s Place.
