Charity donation presentation at intu Potteries…
This year intu Potteries has donated £5,000 to help local charities in Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
Those charities were Relate, The Grocott Centre, Dyslexia Association, Bentilee Volunteers, Staffordshire North and SOT Citizens Advice Bureau.
The money will help to fund projects such as; free counselling sessions for young people, equipment for a sensory toddler group, achievement award scheme for 11 to 19 year old Youthlink members trip to a local outdoor centre and equipment to help volunteers and employees with disabilities to carry out their roles.
The centre is very proud of its achievements within the local community. It also acts as a venue for many charity events throughout the year. This year these have included, Douglas Macmillan, Arch, Travelsmart, Young Enterprise Trade Fairs and Staffordshire Regiment Association. The centre also hosts many events to help raise money and awareness for charities such as Prostate Cancer Awareness and University Hospital of North Staffordshire days to promote Cystic Fibrosis, Stoptober, Men’s and Women’s health awareness days.
Paul Francis, General Manager said “It is important for us to be able to work with and support local charities that are located in the community in which we operate and this year we are delighted to be able to support a wide range of organisations.”
Representatives from the above charities will be attending a presentation of cheques at intu Potteries on Wednesday October 8th at 3pm.
