Birmingham Half Marathon raises more than £400 for KEMP Hospice…

Submitted by on November 26, 2014 – 6:30 am |

Katie O Regan and Julianne BakeFriends, colleagues and sisters, Katie O Regan and Julianne Bake, from Kidderminster based mileage expenses and software company, Fleet Innovations, have together raised well over £400 for local charity KEMP Hospice, by taking part in this autumn’s great Birmingham Half Marathon event.

The 13.1 mile route took charity runners past famous landmarks and sights both in and around Birmingham including Edgbaston Cricket Ground and Cadbury World, before then returning to Birmingham city centre and the finish-line on Broad Street.

Katie commented: “It was very tough but not as tough as what some people have to face on a daily basis.  We’re just so glad that we are both fit and healthy and that we can give something back to our community.

“We would like to thank everyone who helped us raise money for KEMP Hospice which is a wonderful Kidderminster charity. Let’s hope we can enter a much larger TEAM KEMP next year?”

Operating from its Mason Road base, KEMP Hospice provides specialist care and support to patients, families and carers in the Wyre Forest, as well as surrounding areas in Shropshire and Worcestershire, who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement, with the sole aim of helping patients to maintain independence and to provide assistance as they adapt to changing abilities, enabling many to continue living their lives to the full, for as long as possible.

KEMP Hospice community fundraiser, Ele Millward, said: “We are so grateful to Katie and Julianne for taking on this challenge and gaining sponsorship in support of KEMP Hospice.

“Through their support, they have made a real and positive difference to the lives of so many local people in our community.”

To make a donation, arrange a lasting legacy or to take part in the 2015 Great Birmingham, please contact Ele Millward at KEMP Hospice on 01562 756066 or email fundraising@kemphospice.org.uk
