BforB member rewarded for contributions…
Staffordshire business owner Kate Hazeldine has received recognition for outstanding contributions to her referral marketing group. The co-owner of digital marketing agency Yellow Circle Web Solutions has been awarded Member of the Year at the BforB Awards 2015.
The event, held at Wychwood Park, near Crewe, celebrated the successes of 84 Business for Breakfast groups and their members. From hundreds of members across the UK and beyond, regional directors were asked to nominate the member who had contributed the most to the group.
Kate is a long-standing member of the Leek BforB group that meet every other Thursday at The Retreat in Leek. The award-winning group also picked up Venue of the Year.
Award-winner Kate said: “Over the last five years BforB has helped Yellow Circle to grow from two people working out of a dining room to a team of six. To keep up with the growth of the company, last year we made our third move to bigger office space. As well as gaining lots of business through the group, we’ve also been able to create a network of trusted suppliers.
“The award is great recognition of the hard work I’ve put into the group over the last few years. I think being proactive rather than reactive is the key. After each meeting I have a ‘hot hour’ where I devote my attention to one particular member. I spend the time making phone calls and sending emails, nine times out of 10 it results in a lead or a referral.
“I also keep the business cards of all of my fellow members on a key ring, so that I always have it to hand to share their details with my contacts.”
Len Foster, BforB regional director, explained the reasons behind his nomination: “I had no hesitation in recommending Kate. She’s been a loyal member of the Leek Thursday group for the last five years and is a very positive personality to have around.
“As a social media expert she’s played an important role in promoting the group. Kate has a great attitude and is extremely proactive when it comes to bringing guests and passing referrals. I’m hoping that her win will inspire other members to follow her lead.”
Mel Fisher, co-founder of the Business for Breakfast organisation, added: “There were lots of factors considered in selecting Kate as our member of the year. She has 100 per cent attendance and excels in providing her fellow members with consistently good leads and referrals.
“It was closely contested but what made Kate stand out from the competition was the amount of business that Yellow Circle Web Solutions has gained from BforB. Ultimately, members join to grow their business so it’s essential that they remain results-driven throughout their membership, something Kate definitely achieves.”
Yellow Circle Web Solutions is located in Raymond Street, Hanley. The agency, which turns eight later this year, specialises in web design and hosting, digital marketing, SEO and social media.
