Auto Styling Truckman announces £6.2M sales and plans for new jobs…
The Brierley Hill-based company, which manufactures hard top units for pick-up trucks and operates a vehicle accessory trade and retail operation, has reported sales of £6.2m for 2012, up from £5.1m in 2011.
Building upon its 20 percent year on-year-growth, the company is now expanding its operations further with the addition of new manufacturing space, which will create 15 new jobs over the next three years.
Already operating out of an 11,500 sq. ft. facility, the company, which counts major international pick-up truck manufacturers and car dealerships among its customers, is trebling its manufacturing space after securing units at Hurst Business Park.
Located opposite Auto Styling Truckman’s existing facilities, the new units offer 15,000 sq. ft. of space. This £250,000 investment in new facilities and manufacturing equipment will enable the company to increase production of its hard top units, which it builds for every major pick-up truck brand on the market.
Mike Wheeler, Managing Director of Auto Styling Truckman, said: “We are very pleased to have enjoyed continual growth against a backdrop of tough economic conditions. It is particularly satisfying, as a UK manufacturer, to have increased sales and output as there is a misconception that this country does not have a healthy manufacturing industry.
“However, we are proving that UK companies can secure a strong niche in the manufacturing sector, by delivering a quality product that meets the exacting standards of our customers.
“We work closely with the world’s leading pick-up truck manufacturers and our accessories, and in particularly our hard tops, are utilised by companies in a range of industries including construction, agriculture and the utilities.”
Mike added: “Our growth has also facilitated this new investment, which will dramatically increase our capabilities and capacity and allow us to further target new business opportunities in Europe.
“The new space we have acquired will also allow us to increase our workforce, which is also very pleasing as it’s important to retain valuable manufacturing skills in the area.”
